This distance learning session serves as both an introduction to tactical medicine and as a refresher course for those with practical experience. This class features a live instructor who is able to answer questions and interact with students through our “Blackboard Collaborate” learning environment. In order to receive a training certificate, students must pass the final exam with a 70% or higher. The test is available through our Blackboard learning management system at the end of the training session. As a Law Enforcement Officer there is a chance you will find yourself on a scene where someone is severely wounded. If your life is still in danger from an active shooter or some other threat and medics are unavailable it is up to you to react, this course can assist you in gaining the skills and confidence to provide immediate lifesaving measures. Tactical Combat Casualty Care or TCCC assists military personnel in dealing with this type of situation, and this course is designed to help Law Enforcement Officers benefit from the medical knowledge gained from over 10 years of combat. This course demonstrates how you can incorporate it into your own tactics, techniques, and procedures in responding to Drug Search Warrants, Felony Arrests and High liability Duties. Southeast Community Training Center has put together resources to form our Tactical Medicine Review Course, a self-pace/study program designed to help prepare paramedics and other EMS providers to sit for the Tactical Paramedic Certification (TP-C) Exam by the International Board of Specialty Certifications. These resources include power-point lesson plans, videos, and practice exams that cover the TP-C detailed exam outline content.


Tactical Medicine Review Course is an Approved 16-Hour Review Course by the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) for the Tactical Paramedic – Certification (TP-C) examination and renewal process.

Prerequisites:In order to sit for the TP-C® exam, you must have:

  • Hold an unrestricted license or certificate to practice as a paramedic.
  • Complete an approved examination application.
  • Submit paramedic license or certification for verification and approval.

The Certified Tactical Paramedic (TP- C) Examination consists of 135 questions (125 scored and 10 non-scored pretest questions) and the candidate is provided 2.5 hours to complete the examination. The questions on the examination are based in sound paramedicine and tactical principles.

The candidate is expected to maintain a significant knowledge of current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)/Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) standards.
